We (por fin) invited Araceli and Celina to be baptized this week. They accepted but were hesitant a little bit because they don’t know if their dad will let them. They are on date for this Saturday so please pray for them🙏 They are excited and their aunt, Gilda, is hyping them up.
We have a ghost light in our room. If we turn on our bedroom light at all, when we turn it off the light stays like dimmed for a bit and slowly turns off completely. I keep getting scared that an ancestor or something is going to appear in our room.
Sometimes it’s really funny when people or kids think they know English and just yell random words at us (mostly cuss words). This one obviously at least tipsy guy yells at us to come to him. We didn’t walk near him but we kinda stopped to listen to the most likely ragebait he was about to drop on us, but then he asks if we speak English, and then just goes in a very horrible American/Argentine accent, goes “What the f***” And then because we are missionaries we have to not laugh and just walk away.
Supposedly there is a white van with tall white males trying to kidnap kids or something like that in a neighborhood in our area. We haven’t been in that neighborhood that much this week because of how our schedules have been but maybe we’ll have some fun stories next week after going there and people thinking we are them.
Again please pray for Araceli and Celina that their dad might allow them to be baptized. 🙏🙏🙏
Spiritual Thought:
I am in the beginning of Alma and I love how one of the first things that Alma speaks about in his ministry is how he gained a testimony of all of the things he has preached, is preaching, and will preach about. He says in Alma 5:
45 And this is not all. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?
46 Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.
It takes spiritual work to be able to gain a testimony of the principles and doctrine found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If everything was handed to us on a silver platter every times we asked of Heavenly Father, it would take the learning out of everything. I have had many questions on the mission, whether it be doctrinal or what to do in the work. And every time I have had a question it took time and effort to receive an answer. Even still, I have some questions that I have not received answers for, but I have 0 reason to be frustrated, I just have all the more reason to pray and work diligently in personal study to scrutinize the scriptures to receive an answer, in the Lord’s time. I invite you all to do the simple, primary answer things to search for answers to prayer, especially going to the temple, and have patience in how and when the answer will come.
