Avengers Endgame Sacrament Meeting/ We Met Hitler!!!!

Hey everybody! Please send me an email😭

On Pday we had everyone and their mom at our apartment. We didn’t really do anything but we just sat around and talked. We did make some bomb pancakes that morning though for breakfast.

Tuesday nothing really happened but we did give a blessing to a member. Giving blessings is always a great spiritual boost for the day.

Wednesday we had an amazing lesson with our friend Araceli and her aunt, Gilda. We found Araceli our first day working in the area and then figured out her aunt is a member. They have been on vacation the past like 3 weeks though. They got back and we had an amazing spiritual lesson with them. We learned that the mom of Araceli died a few years ago and we don’t know much about the dad but that he is Catholic. Gilda, the aunt, has been basically the mom of Araceli and her little sister for a while now. Gilda used to be a super active member. She even went on some sort of mission and had a Family History calling, but has since gone inactive like 3 or 5 years ago. During our lesson with the 2 we talked about the Restoration and  the church in general. Gilda ended up being the focus of the lesson almost but she agreed to go to church and bring Araceli and her little sister.

Thursday we had interviews with the MP. They were about companionships and so Élder Vargas and I were together for the interview. We also got to talk to Hermana Janzen, our MP’s wife. She told us that for the upcoming first stake conference of the area I’m in, they are going to bring everyone on buses and rent out a gym to broadcast it.

Friday we had exchanges. I was with an Élder Scadden in a little area next to us called Yrigoyen. They were super good and we visited a ton of people and had some really good lessons.

Saturday I was back in my area and basically all we did was invite people to the activity for that night and church the next morning. The activity we combined the 2 branches here, which a bunch of members were like “idk if that’ll work because we might but heads” but it worked out fine. It was karaoke and soccer and was super fun. None of our friends came but a good amount of members.

🏀Sunday🏀

We got a call like 45 minutes before our sacrament starts from a friend saying her and her 2 kids are already at the church building. Our ZLs found them when they were here for like 30 minutes last week and they are chillers. Their family is from one of those tiny countries in Europe like Andorra or something like that, but they look European.

Then while we were waiting Araceli, her sister, and aunt all came. The aunt was crying during testimony meeting and when I gave them a tour of the church building was like awestruck because the building is different from the last time she came to church.

The boyfriend of a member came. He’s been a bunch of times and we’ve tried to teach him but never home, but we figured out where the member is and are gonna find a time when they are both there and teach them. The only thing is though that there’s a trans guy that lives there or at least we see him there all the time so 🥶🥶🥶

The unbaptized kid of the Mission Leader came too. We are still trying to find out where the mom lives so we can go and teach him.

Then the kid of a member we’ve talked to came. Also it was awesome that the husband of the member came. Both are RM’s but the husband has gone inactive. The missionaries have tried teaching and baptizing the kid but the husband wants to baptize him but is inactive and might be doing coca🍃🍃

Also one of the councilors of the mission presidency came, I think to interview people for stake callings or temple recommends or something. Anyways he told us that 2 Area Seventy are coming in 2 weeks to set up the stake. I’m so glad I’ll be here for that. They are supposedly going to bus all of the members like 2 ½ hours away and then rent out a gym so everyone can see it.

Also, our boy Pablo wants to meet again so we might get him back🙏🙏🙏🙏

We passed a guy with a Hitler mustache so we stopped and just chatted with him for a few minutes. We didn’t teach him. Just talked about cutting trees so that we could snap a photo.

Anyways we had 6, technically 7🤔🫣 friends come to church which was a complete miracle. I’ve never seen that many friends come to church before and it was amazing. We also got transfer news and Élder Vargas and I are both staying. We are so excited for this next transfer and got high hopes so stay tuned.

Spiritual  Thought:

Please go and listen to the talk from the 2023 Devotional with Elder and Siter Holland called “A Future Filled with Hope”. It is an amazing talk between the both of them talking about always having a hope in the future if it isn’t obvious in the title.
