✌️😴Double-Double🌊✌️

Hey everybody!!! I hope you all are doing amazing! Please email me about just how good you are doing😊

This email is not titled that way because I want Innout, although also yes. This week we had 2 sleepovers at our apartment and we got 2 Baptisms!!!!!

So we heard we had zone conference last Sunday so I had to ask AP Élder Young if he and AP Élder Ritchie would be staying with us again the night before, which was confirmed. So on P-day all we did was clean, buy groceries and eat at Mostaza, the knock off Burger King/McDonald’s in Argentina.

Tuesday night the APs came over and Élder Dye and I made them pasta and peach cobbler. I got to talk to them both about how they each worked in the area I’m currently in because Élder Young served here a year ago and I replaced Élder Ritchie. It was cool to see how they both worked similarly but also super different.

Wednesday we had Zone Conference but I’ll talk more about that later. It was super good and I got to see some day 1’s and got to be Élder Young’s passenger princess in the APs’ truck🥰

After Zone Conference, we had our DL, Èlder Durney (goes home after this transfer), and his comp ,Élder Hubert (got here 1 or 2 transfers before me) came over to our apartment and eat the rest of the peach cobbler. Then we headed out for exchanges to which I was with Élder Durney again, but the other Élders forgot their keys so they came back and we just had 4 of us in our area for like 4 hours.

During those exchanges Élder Durney and I went to the house of Araceli and Celina to superteam get the signature from their dad to be baptised. Mind you on Tuesday night we passed by and he wouldn’t even look at us let alone talk to us 😭😭😭
We pull up and the aunt immediately talks to us about the 2 and drops that she’s a legal guardian like WHAT!!!?!?!?!? First off we are dumb for never asking but secondly I feel like that would’ve come up. Anyways she says she can sign but wants to be certain the 2 really do want to get baptized. I was like “we’ll, I have one of my leaders right here (District Leader Élder Durney) to do the interviews for them” and so we did them right then and there and they passed!!! Then to celebrate I made more of my pasta for Élders Durney and Hubert.

Nothing much happened the rest of the week. It was mostly prepping for the baptisms and coordinating with the leaders to make sure it would be a good baptism to be welcomed into the branch and into Young Women’s. I had the opportunity to baptize the 2 and it was an amazing baptism! Yesterday I was the one who confirmed Araceli and a member of the Branch Presidency, Celina.

When I tell you it is a night and day difference from since Élder Vargas and I met them to now, it is nothing short of amazing. Baptism really does give new life to people and it has been amazing to see these 2 start on the Covenant Path.

Spiritual Thought:

In Zone Conference, the emphasis was on studying the scriptures and always using the Book of Mormon in lessons. President Janzen, our MP, talked a lot about delving into the scriptures and how that not only blesses us but also the lives of those around us, our companions and those whom we teach. When I was going over my notes and thinking about the talks given, I thought about the scripture D&C 84:85

“85 Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.”

I love the words “treasure up” and “meted” (meted meaning to “give or provide in small portions”). I love thinking of the scriptures as treasure that then we mete. The scriptures are preciously given to us by our Heavenly Father to guide us through our lives, and in this scripture gives us the promise that as we continually read the scriptures and ponder on them, asking if they are true, they will be given to us in the very hour that we need them. If you have a question about life, read the scriptures. If you are having a bad day, read the scriptures. If you are having a good day, read the scriptures. And don’t say to yourselves you don’t have time because I bet I could look at the screen time on your phones and find some time you can free up.

I love you all so so much! I pray for you all always! I hope everything is going well! Please tell me about your lives! Sometimes I’m slow to respond but I do read and try to respond as quickly as possible! mwcurtis@missionary.org
