Hernia

Wassup everyone! Short email this week.

Monday we went on a super cool hike to in English “Elephant Hill.” Inclined hike the whole way but once we got to the top we were in the clouds and for a bit it parted to where there was a layer below and above us with the sun in the middle. Looked like the end of the CROODS.

So my companion got a hernia so we had to deal with that all week. Tuesday and Wednesday he had doctor’s appointments so we didn’t work. Thursday we went out for a bit but then had to come back and only work the night. Friday and Saturday we only worked in the afternoon.

Saturday we had a super cool lesson with our friend, Ana. We found her last week on AP divis. She’s studying geology and our first lesson was her saying that many people go into geology being basically Atheist but then seeing hoe perfectly the Earth has been formed and coming to the conclusion that there is a Creator. We left her Mosiah 4:9 “Believe in God; believe that He exists, and that He created all things in heavan and earth…” but she read the whole chapter and had some questions. We answered them and then left a part of 3 Nephi 11 but she read the whole chapter and had questions about Nephi, the preisthood, and what it means to “become like a little child.” We answered those questions, talked about the 10 commandments, summarized the entire Book of Mormon, and testified of the truthfulness of it and of the priesthood. Her grandma, also named Ana is really interested in the church but is old and has back issues, asked for a blessing so we gave her one. Ana younger asked for 2 whole chapters of the BoM to read and then came to church yesterday. She got along really well with the members and loved church so hopefully her (and she has a sister) get dunked soon.

Spiritual Thought:

So it’s taken me over a year to complete the Book of Mormon in Spanish. Not because of the language barrier but because I’ve only read about 1-3 chapters a day while taking lots of notes. I just invite you all to read the Book of Mormon with a notebook open because you will have impressions or thoughts come to mind as your reading. Even during parts like the war chapters I was able to get some good thoughts down on paper.
