✌️ Más y Pichanal

Hey everybody last week of the transfer and now I have left Pizarro. Not much else but you should email me about what’s going on at home😁

So Monday night while I’m calling my parents I get a text from Estefania, a girl that Élder Vargas and I were teaching a while ago but then asked us to stop teaching her because she’s fine reading and praying by herself. We had stayed in contact with her and she even came to 2 activities last month and then watched conference. I had asked her how much conference she watched and she said “a bit but not everything” and before I had the chance to respond she goes “oh and I wanted to tell you guys I’ve decided I want to be baptized”. My comp and I were absolutely gobsmacked and asked her if she wanted to be baptized on Saturday and she goes “Sure!”. I swear I heard “God Is” by Kanye start playing.

We also prepared Juli for baptism. After the super good lesson we had last Friday she seemed to be pretty hyped about baptism. She thought her baptism was supposed to be on the 18th so we had to be like “well it was originally on the 12th” and she basically said “alright🤷‍♀️”.

That was about it. We had Estefania’s baptism on Saturday and we were pretty annoyed because everyone showed up late so we had to start like an hour late. Still a great baptism though! And then we had Juli’s baptism on Sunday and it was awesome! Both of them were so ready to be baptized and can’t wait to see how they continue in the church!

We got transfer news on Saturday and I’m going all of about 25 minutes away to this area called Pichanal. I’m in the same District and Zone but I’m excited to see how this transfer goes. I’m with an Élder called Élder Quispe from Bolivia so I guess I have to try to lock in on Spanish again.

Last night we had a bunch of Élders over for transfers and made some bomb tacos and a sleepover.

Next week we got the formation of the stake here in the area I’m in so all of the members are hyped even though they have like 0 clue even what a stake is.

Also pray for my mission step dad Élder Baker. He got sent back to where he trained me.

Spiritual Thought:

I saw a video this week of Elder Holland talking about how sometimes when we are suffering or going through a tough trial, it feels as though God doesn’t see us or is punishing us. He kind of rebuked that thought and explained how if Heavenly Father somehow doesn’t love us because we are suffering, then what does that mean about His Son, Jesus Christ. We can’t fathom how great His suffering was but He still knew God loved Him. I listened to a great BYUI devotional by Perry Rockwood about lamenting and how sometimes we can feel that Heavenly Father is far away, but it is a choice to cry out to Him to voice our pains and sufferings. It is a choice to grow closer to Heavenly Father.

I love hearing about your guys’ lives to please email me! mwcurtis@missionary.org I do try to respond when I can. You can also join my Google Photos album! https://photos.app.goo.gl/g9K5EHgzbJLtD3wC8
