Almost Met Governor Cox of Utah

What up everyone! Email me or something

So Monday after picking up my new bf Élder Lewis, we went out so I could show him the area. I was looking at the map figuring out what to do and decided to visit some inactive member points. Background: with Elder Daley we were paying the wifi bill and saw a name on the bill and looked her up and turns out she was a member. Planned to go visit said point but ended up not going. With Elder Lewis we pull up to this house and talk to the family and they tell us one of their sisters lives right across from us in our apartment building and is the same woman we are looking for. I was told at some point that there was a member living in our apartment complex but wasn’t sure. Also, this family has 2 kids that can be baptized: Catalina (8 years old), and Santiago (10 years old). After visiting the house we go back to our apartment and introduce ourselves. Throughout the weel we started teaching these 2 kids and then Santiago came to church yesterday and should get baptized this Sunday.

Tuesday morning I get woken up by Elder Lewis puking all over the floor. He cleaned it up and showered and acted like he was gonna work and stuff but we told him to chill out, which he threw up like 5 minutes later. Like 2 hours later we get a call from our Mission President asking how Lewis is doing because a few politicians from Utah came to JuJuy and one was my Mission President’s Mission President so he got invited and was told to bring 2 Elders and thought of us. At that point we were like “Yeah Elder Lewis is getting better” so President told us he’d pick us up at 4 wearing our nicest clothes. I made chicken noodle soup for lunch which was sooooooo good. Never made it from scratch before but it turned out so good. It hits 4 o’clock and my comp had thrown up a few more times but was gonna hold it like a man, but President told us he was gonna get to our apartment a bit late — and then just canceled on us. Probably better that we didn’t go for the sake of my comp’s health but it would’ve been cool to go.

We also had to work in a Sister’s area because there weren’t any sisters this week. I wish I could work in that area. If they put Elders there they would baptize a nation. The members are tired of Sisters and were stoaked that we were there, but then got sad when we told them that there are gonna be 2 more Sisters this week. There are a bunch of male YSA members and they were all wanting to go on visits with us and do activities with us.

Spiritual Thought:

I was studying a talk titled Pray Always by Elder Bednar and the emphasis he put into these 2 verses really hit me.

“Cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.”

“Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day” (Alma 37:36–37)

I love how we should always keep a prayer in our heart. We don’t need to pray if we should eat a breakfast burrito or cereal in the morning but always have a prayer of gratitude or just to always remember Christ, and it all will be directed for our good.

Praying for you!
