“God gave me a message”
Happy Pday everyone! Hope you all are doing well! Should probably like email me about it or something🤷♂️ mwcurtis@missionary.org
So after the temple on Wednesday we went and ate at a pretty good Chinese place. Not as good as Hong Kong Kitchen or Chin’s in San Diego but the only and best Chinese food I’ve had here in Argentina. Then we just went around looking at cool shopping places. I bought myself a cool belt, had a McFlurry for the first time since ‘Nam and then we went home. The bus ride was longer than usual, but I got to watch Fantastic Four.
Thursday we had AP exchanges. I went with AP Ritchie from Gilbert, AZ. He’s your pretty cookie cutter AP but a chiller. We found a ton of people, and a few of them seem that they will progress but we’ll see. (noneofthemcametochurch) Élder Daley and AP Piguave from Guayaquil, Ecuador (29 years of age) went to a bunch of members and just got references from them.
Claudia is still progressing really well! She wants to go to church and see how it is but is just starting to do dialysis so she has a thing in her neck, and if she leaves home, she might die. She should get the thing taken out of her neck this week or next so please pray for her!🙏🙏🙏
Friday night we found this inactive lady w her son, Valentino. Valentino almost got baptized right before COVID but didn’t come to church one Sunday and then the next Sunday everything shut down. They have a pretty sucky home situation at the moment but we had a cool spiritual lesson with them where we talked about prayer. It sucks though because we had a lesson confirmed with Valentino the next morning but he #ghostedus so we don’t know what’s going on with that. He”s super good at Rubix cubes and even made the flags of the 2 World Cup finalists.
Sunday we finally had someone come to church after so long🙏🙏🙏 Our boy Juan Cruz pulled up and he liked it but just doesn’t know many people.
Also we had this other guy pull up named Alex. He walked in pretty late and then afterwards I tried introducing him to a member, but Alex just started saying some crazy stuff. He said that God gave him a message to share with the whole world that we can’t eat protein nor any type of seed and somehow related it to like eating Christ. He also said that he saw the future that he will have a son and that son will become God🗣💯🗣💯💯 He went on that he wants to play for Boca and then become a world leader to share his message about the protein and also he thinks that it’s unfair that Messi’s kid will play in the next world cup but ”there’s kids in Gaza that aren’t able to”. He is confident that he can play for Boca and then become a world leader in the next 3 years, especially if he follows the message God gave him to not eat protein/meat or any type of seed.🙏🙏🗣🗣🗣💯🗣💯💯 (this guy was a red point btw)
Spiritual Thought:
The Spirit is pretty awesome. I recently read the talk by President Eyring titled “The Holy Ghost as Your Companion”. It’s a great talk with examples of his father following the Holy Ghost in his life. I love this quote in the talk:
“As you obey, the impressions from the Spirit will come more frequently, becoming closer and closer to constant companionship. Your power to choose the right will increase.
You can know when these impressions to act for Him are from the Spirit rather than from your own desires. When the impressions square with what the Savior and His living prophets and apostles have said, you can choose to obey with confidence. Then the Lord will send His Spirit to attend you.”
As I have said before, this has been a big learning point on my mission; learning how to recognize the Spirit and “obey[ing] with confidence.” but as I have tried more to follow promptings, I have seen more promptings come and a stronger connection as I go throughout the mission.
Please email me! Lmk how your life is going! mwcurtis@missionary.org Love and pray for you all!
With love,
