PWeek
I am proud to be an American🗣🗣🇺🇲🇺🇲🦅🦅🦅🇺🇲🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲🦅 even though its 34⁰ F in fetching July here in Argentina. Please tell me how cool the fireworks were this year. I pray it was the most ever or something like that.
When I say PWeek, I mean it. On Monday we had to go to Salta to have Missionary Leadership Council with the new Mission President. It was pretty cool. Got to see a real mall and almost bought McDonald’s but it was mega expensive so we decided not to. The new MP has already changed a lot in the mission but also not much at the same time. We got back to my area at 9pm that night.
Because we had that meeting on Monday, the changed our Pday to Tuesday. The leaders from our zone and from another zone went to this place called Purmamarca. Think Globe, AZ but then like brick and clay houses and it is all 100% tourism. I bought a poncho which is mega comfortable and I got to try llama meat. It was kinda just like pretty okay tasting beef but you could tell it definitely wasn’t cow.
Wednesday we finally found Aldana again. We taught her the Word of Wisdom and she is very on board with not taking that stuff.
Thursday we had Zone Conference. It was supposed to start at 3:30pm but started late and then like no one left until like 8:30pm so we didn’t do anything that afternoon. It was nice though because 2 of my former comps are currently companions, Elders Dye and Quispe. They came and stayed the night at our pension which was fun.
Friday we were told we HAD to have Zone Council even though 2 of our STLs were gonna be with a different zone for their zone council. We had that and it was pretty good, and then Argentina played again so we just went and had a lesson with Aldana again. She is still progressing and is praying about if the church is true. She wants to get baptized and said it’s because she wants to wait till its warmer weather, but after talking a bit more we realized that it is because her mom is… wanna guess it? Catholic 🥳🥳🥳🥳 and gets mad if she goes to other churches, which she’s been doing for a while. She wants some time to talk to her before she goes and does it. I do have a ton of faith that she’ll get baptized this month.
Saturday we had to travel to give an Hermana a blessing because this cold weather is killing her (#metoo) so we didn’t do much for the morning and then that evening we had some cool lessons, including a person coming up to us asking how she can get baptized, which is pretty cool.
Sunday no one we’re teaching came to church and then legit no one came to the activity we have every week. We felt bad because this one Sister made some food and got there right before we were about to leave and was like “No one’s here??? I spent all afternoon making food for the activity.” And then left.
We got transfer news and I’m staying! And 2 more missionaries are coming to the other area so I don’t have to slave away in 2 areas🥳🥳🥳 Élder Daley is staying as well so I might kill him! (He “dies”/ goes home at the end of this next transfer)
🇺🇲🦅🎇Spiritual Thought🎆🦅🇺🇲
I’m sad I couldn’t be in the US for 250 years of the United States. It’s pretty dope that the scriptures mentions how the US is a chosen land, but specifically I love D&C 101:80, “for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.” If it wasn’t for the Constitution and the rights and privileges established in the Bill of Rights, the Restauration would not have been brought to pass. And thank you to the many that have given their lives for the freedoms we enjoy, we have the Constitution. Even if you don’t love the US for whatever reason, be thankful for at least one thing.
Love and pray for you all! Please lmk what you guys did for 4th of July weekend!
