364 Days and the Temple
Hey everybody! Another pretty mid week, but still working.
To explain, I went to the temple today so today is my Pday. More on that later
Wednesday was a super good game against England. All of the country went nuts because of the history between the 2 countries. We went and watched the game at the Flia Martinez’s house to watch it and it was pretty sick. Another last minute clutch. We watched the Final with the same family, and they made us an asado🤪😋 Saddest performance by the Argentine team. Also a really fetching weird halftime show.
I got a bug stuck in my eye for about 3 hours on Friday before it finally came out. Pretty frickin nasty if you ask me.
There has been 1 convert in my area that we have not been able to contact at all by any means. She is never there during the day nor night, we’ve tried calling and texting her and still nothing. On Wednesday I felt to see if she had an email, but we were in the street so I said I’d do it later. Thursday the same thing happened; in the street, pushed it off. On Friday during daily planning the thought came back and I looked on our cutsie missionary app and sure enough she had an email registered. I sent her an email, not really thinking anything of it, but she responded almost right away. By that afternoon we had a lesson with her over the phone where she said she was thinking about the church when we sent her an email. She hasn’t been in over 9 months, and still didn’t come on Sunday🙁
We are fighting right now to find people that will really progress. We keep finding people that seem promising and then they turn out to be bums.
On Monday, since my Pday got moved, we had a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader and he gave us some food advice and went on a few visits with us. We went to the house of a member who grew up in my area, but is now living in Buenos Aires. He was visiting for winter vacations and he leaves on a mission soon. We went over to his house and had a great lesson with him where he asked my comp and I advice for the mission. It always feels weird giving advice because I feel like I don’t know anything and hes like 4 years older than me, so its hard for me to say anthing sometimes. I did mention the Spirit and after talking for a bit, he mentioned that we should visit his aunt who lives in front of his house. He said a few weeks ago he had a dream where she was being taken to the hospital, and he woke up and asked his dad, and she in fact was. She is dealing with diálisis for a bit. We went over to teach her with this member and our Mission Leader and it was a really spiritual lesson where we talked about eternal families and at the end she asked why, if we all worship God, is there so much contradiction between the churches. Pray that Claudia and her (hopefully husband) Oscar progresses🙏🙏🙏
I have exchanges with the APs tomorrow. Everyone wish me luck🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
I am officially less than a year from going home. My go home date is July 21, 2027. So I have 364 days left and counting, but I complete a year in the mission on August 4th.
Spiritual Thought:
The temple is genuinely my favorite place on earth. The last time I went was September 12 so just over 10 months that I haven’t entered the temple. The peace I could feel, even in the parking lot, was almost tangible. I’ve been studying the temple a lot recently in preparation for and I was able to understand even more of the Endowment. It is such a cool experience and such a blessing to get to go. Once I got to the Celestial Room, I didn’t want to leave. I was actually the last person, and the only person, in there for just about 3 minutes. I will invite any and all to study and attend the temple as often until as they can until the day I die. The temple truly, truly is the House of the Lord. I testify of that and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Love and pray for you all. Please lmk how you are doing and what you’ve been doing for summer! mwcurtis@missionary.org
