Half Way
Hey everyone! How are you doing this week? Send me emails about it! 😁
Benjamin, our recent convert has just been walking around with us on lessons and on some random street at a random time, being like “I know someone over here, let’s go visit them.” And then we go and it’s a friend from elementary school (Benja is in his 20s). So we have been finding a lot through that. We started teaching Benja’s sister, Florencia and she should get baptized the 28th if all goes well. She came to church on her own. We also met Benja’s dad. He was taught like 4 years ago supposedly and went to church a few times but didn’t get baptized because he felt too pressured by the Sister missionaries to do so.
Luciano is still fighting with cigarettes and other things but is wanting to drop them! He didn’t come to church because he goes to the next closest city where his Grandma lives and works with his Graphic Designer uncle. We are gonna see what happens with him if he doesn’t come to church this next week.
We got transfer news and I’m staying and Élder Payne is going to the promised land of Ledesma. I get one Élder Dailey. He was one of my ZLs in my last zone and a great missionary. Because of 20 Élders going home during a 3 week transfer, we get to cover 2 areas for the next 3 weeks🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 jk lol we’re gonna see what happens. A bunch of Goats went home, including my mission father, Élder Bigelow, and my drunk uncle, Élder Young, as well as a few other chillers I have gotten to know throughout the mission. It will be so much different w/o them and even more different after 9 more weeks when the other half of the Goats of the mission leave.
Between July and August, my mission is getting like 60+ missionaries, most of them being gringos.
That’s all. Pray that some miracles can happen and we can get our baptism goals for 2 areas this month😭🙏
Spiritual Thought:
I think a lot of times when speaking on Corianton, we just speak about how sexual sins are abominable and the mistakes he made, and leave it there. I feel like we hardly make mention of scriptures like Alma 48:18 where it compares Captain Moroni, “like unto Ammon, the son of Mosiah, yea, and even the other sons of Mosiah, yea, and also Alma and his sons, for they were all men of God.” I am getting this thought from a talk of something I read recently that I can’t remember, but it doesn’t say that the Sons of Mosiah and Sons of Alma (minus Corianton) were men of God. It says all were men of God. Corianton did, in fact, take heed to Alma’s words and changed for the better, and “bridled his passions”. Repentance is true and we can change, even completely, through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Love you all! Shoot me an email if you can. Would love to hear from you! mwcurtis@missionary.org
