#imchopped

Whattup everyone! Lowkey a vacation week with all the traveling I had to do but ppl are progressing so that’s chill at least.

P-day we didn’t do anything besides try to get a haircut but everywhere was closed so we just ate and then I was sending out emails to those that sent me them.

Tuesday we had Zone Conference and it was cool to say my goodbyes to some Elders that come home next week, meet some new guys, and chill with some of the OGs. It was our President’s last Zone Conference of his mission so it was pretty cool, and we ate probably the most mid asado I’ve had on the mission. They at least gave us a missionary cookie.

Wednesday we had the MLC. It’s when all the fellow ladder climbers meet together and talk about numbers🥰🥰 jk it’s not exactly like that. We had some really good advice given to us about how to help the mission and a good talk by our MP’s wife about leadership because there’s a bunch of us newer ZLs and STLs. I also got to spend like all day with little Elder Blackner so that was funzie.

Friday we had Zone Council and they SHAVED MY HEAD. Worst peer pressure I’ve received in my entire life. Fue mi ofrenda para que la zona logre nuestro compromiso de bautimsos este mes. Si no logramos la meta, voy a saltar del balcón de mi apartamento. Worst decision of my life, but it should be grown back by the transfer in August (iykyk). But yeah one of our investigators said I look like the dude from Full Metal Jacket (“let me see your war face” guy).

No one came to church of those we are teaching minus the dude who just wants to Bible bash us.

In my whole time in the mission I have extended a million invitations to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. This is the first area in which they are actually doing it, and they are getting the answer, but not acting on it. Last week I had one of the most powerful testimonies I’ve given in a lesson as I mentioned last week. This week we passed by the girl who prayed, and she got an answer, but then afterwards found her cat dead in the mouth of her dog and saw that as a bad omen or smt. We had another powerful lesson where we explained how everything good comes from God. What happened with her cat has nothing to do with the answer to her prayer. We invited her to pray again to receive a confirmation of the answer she already received, promised that she would get the same answer, and that we’d see her at church. She was visibly at peace and agreed she would do it but then guess who didn’t come 🫤 Another lady has been looking for the true church her whole life, and the only church she hasn’t been to is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In a closing prayer of a lesson she asked Heavenly Father to “guide her on the right path” and then told us she already knows in her heart that the church is true after she said “Amen”. I hate the culture of not going to church when it rains. Legit top 3 most frustrating things in the mission is how minor inconveniences in the weather stop these people from receiving so many blessings.

Because of my Mission President going home soon, next week we have transfers again so next weeks email might be a doozy🤷‍♂️

Spiritual Thought:

When I buzzed my head and looked in the mirror trying not to cry (joking but not joking), I thought of this picture of my grandpa:

As it says in the picture, he was on his mission when the photo was taken. Like I’ve probably mentioned before, I never met him because he passed away before I was born. I wish with all my heart I could’ve but thanks to the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation I know that I will see him someday, and honestly, I did probably meet him after he passed away and before I was born. I wouldn’t have a testimony and faith that I could see him someday without the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for temple ordinances that bind heaven and earth so that families can be together forever.

Love you all! Please email me or join my Google Photos! mwcurtis@missionary.org https://photos.app.goo.gl/g9K5EHgzbJLtD3wC8
